On June 3, Birchwood Furniture Galleries Will Once Again Support Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
Many of us look inward and ask how we can support our community and those impacted by economic hardship or nature’s tragedies. At Birchwood, we are always looking for ways to invest in our community.
After all, as second-generation business owners, being born and raised in Calgary has given us a particular appreciation for the city and the great people that live here.
Introducing Mennonite Central Committee, an Organization That Does Great Work at Home and Abroad
MCC is a charitable organization that is less known than many others, yet will celebrate a centennial of support and community involvement in 2020. They are a group active in regions of unrest and disaster, working to bring stability and comfort back to those displaced by war, tragedy, famine, and other catastrophes.
- Provides relief and care of immediate needs during times of crisis
- Helps communities prepare for and respond to disasters
- Improves long-term access to food, water, healthcare, and education for those who need it
- Teach conflict transformation skills, promote peace education, and advocates for justice and cooperation
Our Family Has Been Touched By MCC; We Are Forever Grateful of the Work They have Done and Continue to Do

How We are Helping
This year on June 3, in collaboration with Shine FM, we will be donating a portion of sales to MCC. Our staff are also supporting MCC internally and individually through donations and volunteer time. We are so proud of our team for their kindness, compassion, and dedication to this worthy cause.
In addition to donating a portion of proceeds, we also donate furniture to be sold at the MCC thrift store in Calgary. Furniture sold at the local MCC store funds their relief efforts and helps those who need it locally and abroad.
We welcome you to join us on June 3 – your new investment will also be an investment in others.
