Linen
We love the look of linen. It’s fresh, light, and a fabulous blank canvas to create your perfectly unique space. There are a few downfalls to natural linen though, including that it is hard to clean, it wrinkles almost instantly, and it wears poorly.
Want the look without the headache? Don’t fret! There is an easy answer – POLYESTER. This man made fiber can have a very similar look to linen but is more suitable to busy lifestyles. Not only is it more durable, but it is often softer to the touch and easier to clean. It’s the best of both worlds.

Crewel Embroidery
For those of you who are not familiar with the term “crewel”, it is a decorative embroidery traditionally using wool and a variety of stitches to follow a design outline applied to fabric. This technique has been around for thousands of years and is still being used today.

Although beautiful, crewel work was scratchy and uncomfortable when it came to using it for upholstery. It also comes at a high cost – true crewel is very pricey!
Shaking your head wondering how you’ll get that look? We’ve got a solution. We’d like to introduce you to printed crewel patterns. Get that classic look but in a way that is more suitable for you everyday life. These patterns are now printed on a thicker cotton, creating a similar esthetic to wool but with a softer hand or feel. It’s practical, on trend and timeless!

From geometrics to florals, prints are everywhere right now. This is a very easy look to get. Go bold on your throw pillows and accent chairs. Take the opportunity to add some colour, cheer and interest to your space. We’re cooped up indoors for so many months of the year, do what you can to liven things up!
Our only advice to you is to be sure the fabric is appropriate. We wouldn’t want you to fall in love with a print only to find that the fibre used has a very low durability.
Other than that, have some fun! Anything goes with prints – mix and match, or keep it simple by adding solid accents, the options are endless! Right now we are seeing a lot of retro and vintage color palettes and print in decor trends. Nostalgia is back in a big way.
